Absolutely!! From November to March the water temperature drops below 70 degrees. These months are a great time to target Bull Reds and large Black Drum. Although the shark bite slows down, you can still catch a straggler blacktip or bull shark. Sandbar sharks like the colder water temps and come into Texas waters during these months. I like to use smaller baits when the water is cold. A whole whiting or a small piece of stingray is a good bet for sandbar sharks during these months. I also rely heavily on crabs for red and black drum.
Invest in a pair of waders and bring warm clothes. 50 degrees with a 20mph wind will make you wish you didn't make the trip if you are not dressed for the occasion. Hang in there on these cold days and you will eventually be rewarded with some monster fish!!
